1) Budget
Determine and overall budget for your construction project. Factor in the equity in your current home, cash down payments, mortgage qualifications and payment parameters.
2) Home Necessities
What are the needs for your new home including location, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and total square feet? Make sure that you plan ahead for the future, because some buyers tend to build for their client needs and they can easily grow out of their new home.
3) Dream Wish List
Complete a wish list of all features and amenities that want to see in your home. Include all family members in this brainstorming activity. After this comprehensive list is completed, you should prioritize each item based on your end objectives. Remember that some of the items in your list are not as vital as others and will be included as the budget allows.
4) Create a Floor Plan
Meet with our team or our network of designers to create a custom floor, choose from existing plans, or modify an existing plan. Identify all amenities from your wish list for an accurate cost estimate.
5) Cost Estimate
Review detailed cost estimate and make changes as needed to fit the budget.
6) Permanent Financing
Visit your mortgage lender with your cost estimates and specifications for loan approval. Check our Affiliates page for local mortgage lenders.
